HISTORY:  Our Belize Missionaries have been leading Mission Trips to Belize for over 19 years, so you will be in excellent hands.  Our Belize Mission trips are well organized, strategic in its goals, life-changing & Christ-centered.  Together, with your help, we can make a difference, one precious life at a time.  Belize Mission Trip Video

PLANE TICKET:  Airlines that fly to Belize: American, Continental, Delta, USAir and Taca.  There is only one International Airport in the country of Belize, the airport code is BZE.  American Airlines charges an additional fee of $39.50 US upon departure from Belize.

PASSPORT:  A valid US Passport is required with at least a year left before expiration.  If you don't have a passport, visit State.gov or contact the nearest passport office, authorized post office or courthouse for specific details on acquiring a passport.

VISA:  Visa's are automatically granted to US Citizens at the Belize Airport upon your arrival at Immigration in Belize. If you are a non-US Citizens, you will need to contact the Belize Embassy in Washington, DC for specific Visa information for your country. 

VACCINATIONS:  Inform your family doctor of where you are going and follow his advice. 

MONEY:  US currency is widely accepted in Belize, the exchange rate is $2 BZ for $1 US.

PHONES:  Phones are not available in all villages.  However, there will be at least one public phone at the hotel you’ll be at each evening. 

SAFETY:  Safety is VERY important to us.  International Servants, and our partner ministries, have led thousands of short term Team members safely to Belize.  To date, NONE of our short term Team members have experienced a major incident of crime.  While crime is possible anywhere you go, we take extra precautions to ensure your safety. 

ELECTRICITY:  Electricity (when available) is supplied at 110 volts, the same as in the USA.

WATER:  In the villages, only drink the bottled water or soft drinks that we provide (the Hotel water is fine).

LANGUAGE:  English is the official language; however, many other languages are also spoken in Belize, such as Maya, Ketchi, Spanish, and Creole.

MINORS:  Minors (children under 18) who are not accompanied by BOTH parents to Belize must bring a NOTARIZED letter from the non-traveling parent stating that they have permission to bring the minor to Belize for the specific dates of the trip.  Minors who are not accompanied by EITHER parent must bring a notarized letter from BOTH parents stating that they have permission to travel to Belize for the specific dates of the trip AND specifying an adult (who is on the trip) as the person whom they are traveling with.

SUITECASES:  Pack all your personal items and Team supplies in suitcases (do not bring plastic totes or boxes), number each piece of luggage and attach a distinctive, bright colored piece of clothe or tape to each piece of baggage and keep a Master List which itemizes the contents of each bag.  Be sure to contact your airline regarding current baggage allowance and baggage weight limits. 

WHAT TO PACK:  Lightweight clothing with tennis shoes or boots, swimsuit, flashlight with extra batteries, Bible, pen and paper, toiletries, bug spray, camera, hat and sunscreen, travel alarm, any medications that you personally require, personal favorite snack foods and personal money for cokes, souvenirs or donations.  Do not bring:  Expensive clothing, clothing with non-Christian ads or expensive jewelry.

TEAM SIZE:  We can accommadate Mission Teams of any size.  From 12 people to over 100 people.  Size is not a problem.

PRIVATE TRIPS:  We provide private, custom Mission Trips to Belize for groups of 30 or more.

MINISTRIES YOU WILL BE DOING:  Most of our teams are involved in Medical, Construction or Children's Ministries.  However, other options are also available.

HOTEL:  We house ALL our Teams in HOTELS with electricity, showers & running water.  Unlike other Missions, with us you will not have to worry about sleeping on the concrete floor of a unsafe building with 50 people sharing only 2 toilets.  Safety is very important to us & so is basic hygiene.

MEALS:  Every day, breakfast AND dinner will be at a RESTAURANT.  Lunch will be in the villages, prepared by our Belizean staff.  If you have specific dietary needs, please let us know.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE:

Saturday: Fly to Belize

Sunday: Worship with our Belizeans & Belize Missionaries at one of our local Churches in the morning & free-time in the afternoon

Monday-Thursday: Breakfast at the hotel with morning devotions, 9 am - 5 pm do Ministry in the villages (Medical, Construction or Childrens), dinner at the hotel with team meeting, free-time after dinner

Friday: Fun day, private boat charter to snorkel in the Caribbean & bbq on a beach at a private island

Saturday: Fly to the USA

The website of The World Health Organization, www.who.int, contains details of several countries official vaccine-related entry requirements, areas and types of malaria risk in individual countries, frequent updates on disease risks and news of disease outbreaks important to international travelers.
